The Social Network

It lived up to the hype.

I had been waiting for The Social Network to come out all summer long. I figure after seeing the trailer a half dozen times in theaters, and knowing that the screenplay was written by my favorite Hollywood writer, Aaron Sorkin, there was no way it would be as good as I had hoped. Turned out, for the first time maybe, ever, I was wrong.

Featuring Sorkin's trademarked biting sarcasm, the story about the second most visited website on the planet becomes much more than a computer programmers fantasy film. It becomes an entertaining story about friendship, loyalty, and business.

From all accounts it seems Jesse Eisenberg's portrayal of Thefacebook creator, Mark Zuckerberg, is dead on, even down to the clothes that he wears throughout the movie. His dry sense of humor, and lack of caring about money makes for a truly entertaining main character. And while others may disagree I thought Justin Timberlake was phenomenal in his role as Napster founder, Sean Parker.

I wanted The Social Network to be my first review on the blog, because I truly feel that it is the best movie of the year. I absolutely recommend it to everyone who reads this.
