30 Minutes or Less

In what appears to be an unprecedented run of movies that don't make you think, the wife and I ventured to the theaters this morning to check out 30 Minutes or Less.

Despite the fact that I spent the first 45 minutes of this movie trying to make myself realize that Jesse Eisenberg was playing Nick the loser pizza driver and not Mark Zuckerberg (the Facebook joke with his girlfriend didn't help), I actually quite enjoyed this movie.

When Dwayne (Danny McBride), and Travis (Nick Swardson) decide they want to try and knock off Dwayne's dad to get an early start on his inheritance they quickly realize they need to raise $100,000 to hire a hit man. Well, what better way to do that than by kidnapping the local pizza delivery guy, strapping a bomb to his chest, and forcing him to rob a bank?

After the two masked gorilla's make their play, Nick has only one person to turn to in his time of need, his best friend Chet (played hilariously by Aziz Ansari). The only problem he has there is he just got into a fight with Chet after exchanging truths including the fact that he slept with Chet's sister, Kate (Dilshad Vadsaria).

The two have to find a way to get along in order to make sure that they don't get blown up together while running the errands of two evil "masterminds".

There are enough one-liners throughout this movie that you will find yourself watching it and cracking up every time it re-airs on HBO in the future. Everyone from the main characters to the poor bank patrons caught up in the robbery will make you laugh.

While buying a ticket to this movie might not turn out like buying a ticket to the Michigan state lottery, you will definitely leave the theater feeling like a winner.

That's what she said.
